City of Bee Cave Adopts 2026 Budget
Bee Cave, Texas — The City of Bee Cave has approved its Fiscal Year 2026 budget, a plan that keeps taxes low while investing in public safety, infrastructure, technology and community services.
The budget projects just under $13.8 million in revenue with $11.4 million in operating expenses. Unlike other cities across the state, Bee Cave has a budget surplus—allowing strategic investments in projects that maintain a high quality of life.
Highlights of the FY 2026 Budget:
- Construction of a new public safety building shared with Lake Travis Fire Rescue.
- Updated police equipment, including new radios and safety gear.
- Roadway improvements, including new sidewalks on Bee Cave Parkway and pavement repairs.
- A new city website for easier access to information and services.
- Technology and security upgrades for the municipal court.
- A road safety package with electronic message boards, cones, and barricades.
“This budget invests in public safety, efficiency, and innovation while keeping Bee Cave’s property tax rate the lowest in the region,” said City Manager Julie Oakley. “We’re also supporting our workforce with a 4% merit raise and retirement plan enhancements to continue attracting top talent.”
At just two cents per $100 in valuation, Bee Cave’s property tax rate is the lowest in the area and hasn’t increased in the past 20 years. The average Bee Cave homeowner will pay just $154 in city property taxes this year. The city can keep property taxes so low because of robust sales tax revenue from local businesses. Shopping local helps the city keep property taxes low.
Despite a lean staff, Bee Cave relies on smart tools to maximize efficiency and continues to fund the amenities and events that make the city special—from Bee Cave on Ice to maintaining Central Park, the trail system, the library, and community facilities.
